A book dedicated to typology of preschool buildings analyzes the typological characteristics of pre-school buildings in Serbia, as well as the possibilities for their energy improvement. Due to the limited information that occurred during the gathering and analysis of data on preschool institutions, attention in the book was directed only to state-owned independent facilities. The analyzed sample of preschool facilities enabled the formation of a typology by establishing a matrix that defined four characteristic periods of construction, that is, three typical sizes of preschool buildings. The authors note the specificity of this type of buildings that, due to their function, belong to the education system, but at the same time they belogn to the group of buildings intended for health and social protection. Consequently, pre-school buildings are subject to more stringent requirements in terms of thermal comfort, and in the past period they have been more often subjected to interventions that resulted in their partial energy efficiency improvement.
