Regional conference - Improvement of energy efficiency in public buildings

On Thursday, March 28, 2019, in the Užice City Culture Center, a regional conference was held by the Knowledge Hub for Energy Efficiency with the topic "Improving Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings". At this event, the contents of the EE Knowledge Platform was presented, as well as the National typology of school and kindergarten buildings, the methodology for their establishment and measures for improving energy efficiency, as well as a calculator based on this typology, a tool which can be used to easily calculate the advantages of certain measures in improving energy efficiency, thus allowing the user in to analyze and choose the best measures when investing in refurbishing of school buildings.

During the conference, the representatives of the city of Uzice, the municipality of Bajina Bašta and Priboj and GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the project "Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings" with the aim of joint action in improving energy efficiency, exchange of information and knowledge in this field. The focus of this project is to improve the regulatory framework in the field of energy efficiency, develop tools for analyzing investments in school renovation, training of janitors and staff in schools and kindergartens, as well as strengthening the capacities of local self-government units in the field of energy efficiency in the building sector.

The Regional conference in Uzice was organized by the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and the Faculty of Architecture, University of Belgrade, supported by the German-Serbian cooperation project "Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings", implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Ministry of Mining and Energy of Serbia, as well as BioEn project implemented by the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor.
